For the first time ever, Civic Center Park will join Denver Parks and Recreation’s free Movies in the Park Series in summer 2011. Plan a night out with family and friends to see some of the brightest stars, both on the screen and in the sky, at one of four Sunday night movies in Civic Center Park.
Produced by the Civic Center Conservancy, the Denver Cruiser Ride and Denver Parks and Recreation, the free Bike-In movies invite cycling enthusiasts (and those using all other modes of transportation) to spend Sunday evenings in Civic Center. Movie selections are as follows: June 26 | Field of Dreams; July 10 | E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial; July 24 | The Social Network; August 7 | Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.
The PG- and PG -13 rated films start at dusk. In partnership with Outdoor Cinema Network, all movies will be shown in Blu-ray format on a state-of-the-art 40-foot screen with a high-quality sound system. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets or low-seating lawn chairs to enhance their viewing experience. Picnics are welcome; gourmet food trucks will also be available on-site before each show.
The 2011 Civic Center Park Bike-In Movie Series is made possible by support from the following sponsors: CorePower Yoga and Drahota; Kaiser Permanente in support of LiveWell Colorado; Foster Graham Milstein & Calisher, LLP; and FirstBank. Special thanks to media sponsor Denver Post Community.
