The Counterterrorism Education Learning Lab (CELL) and The Denver Post will present Colorado Remembers – a 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony & Special Tribute to first responders in the wake of the Colorado wildfires and the Aurora tragedy -- at Denver’s Civic Center Park on September 11th, 2012, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., in Civic Center Park's Great Lawn. Civic Center EATS will be taking place concurrently on Tuesday, September 11th from 11:00 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Civic Center Park's Central Promenade.

This free event in Civic Center Park will include FDNY's Rescue 4 fire truck, the Colorado National Guard, Taps and World Trade Center artifacts. Hosted by Governor John Hickenlooper, Denver Mayor Michael B. Hancock and Aurora Mayor Steve Hogan, the event will feature remarks from Denver Broncos’ John Elway and live musical performances by Hazel Miller and the Colorado Children’s Chorale. A special tribute will be made by Aurora Police Chief Dan Oates and Aurora Fire Chief Mike Garcia.

Colorado Remembers is free and open to the public. For more information about this event, visit www.thecell.org or the Colorado Remembers event page on Facebook.

Civic Center EATS Outdoor Café takes place on Tuesdays AND Thursdays - from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. An incredible venue in which to experience Denver's growing gourmet food truck scene, a portion of the proceeds benefit the Civic Center Conservancy, the nonprofit dedicated to restoring, enhancing and activating Denver’s historic Civic Center Park.
