New in 2014, Civic Center MOVES is a free fitness series for all fitness levels. Produced by the Civic Center Conservancy and made possible by the fitness providers listed below, the free classes take place at different times of day Mondays through Thursdays, beginning April 21st.
Civic Center MOVES classes will meet in various areas of Civic Center Park, including the Great Lawn, the Broadway Terrace, the Greek Theater and around the Seal Pond. All particpants in Civic Center MOVES Classes will be required to sign a waiver the first time they attend a class. Waivers will be available on-site, but you can also download one HERE. Please note that restrooms, changing areas and locker space are not available in the park.
SCHEDULE & CLASS DESCRIPTIONS:
Monday Evenings (6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.): Yoga with Prana Fitness
Move, sweat, and loosen to an all-levels outdoor vinyassa yoga class that is sequenced to open your bold heart, unlock your emotional hips, and get your blood moving through every fiber of your body. At the end of class, wind down and relax with soothing stretches and a moment of quiet reflection.
Tuesday Lunchtimes (11:30 a.m. - 12:15 p.m.): Yoga with Denver Parks & Recreation
Flow through a variety of uplifting yoga postures to lengthen and strengthen your body while relaxing your mind. Finding power by connecting your breath with physical movement, this class will leave you feeling balanced and re-energized for the rest of the day.
Tuesday Lunchtimes (12:15 p.m. - 1:00 p.m.): Boot Camp with Denver Parks & Recreation
This challenging class is designed to promote cardiovascular endurance and muscular strength with interval and circuit training. Using your own body weight, this is a functional class that allows you to enjoy the great outdoors while getting a well-rounded workout.
Wednesday Mornings (6:15 a.m. -7:00 a.m.): Free Fitness Tribe with November Project-Denver
November Project is a free grassroots fitness tribe aimed at building community that relies on the accountability of members to show up each morning regardless of the weather conditions or their busy schedule in the day ahead. The exercise routines are scalable in order to allow people of all shapes, sizes, and athletic abilities to come together in the same venue to run, climb, and burpee at their own pace. In 45-minutes, you will get in a tough workout, meet new friends and set a positive tone for the day ahead.
Thursday Evenings (5:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.): Full-Body Workout with Pearl Street Fitness presented by Fairlife, LLC
Progress at your own pace through a series of strength, conditioning, and cardio blasts that will balance your body, rev your metabolism and leave you feeling uplifted. All levels welcome.

Prana Fitness is a local 501(c)(3) nonprofit that promotes health and fitness. Founded by Sarah Tinkler and led by a dedicated board of directors, this group puts on free yoga workshops and other fitness events across Colorado as well as maintains a strong online presence with free workout videos on its website and motivation on its social media. Prana Fitness seeks to make healthy living and fitness support accessible to everyone regardless of their ability to pay or their current fitness level. Move, have fun, meet positive friends, and feel more alive.
