Civic Center Gala

The nonprofit Civic Center Conservancy is dedicated to restoring, enhancing and activating downtown Denver’s historic Civic Center Park – the 12-acre historic urban oasis surrounded by the Colorado State Capitol, Denver Public Library, Denver Art Museum, Denver City and County Building and downtown Denver commercial business district.

 

Known for its annual Independence Eve Celebration, Civic Center EATS Outdoor Café and Bike-in Movie Series as well as its advocacy and fundraising for all things Civic Center Park, the Conservancy will host its first-ever Civic Center Gala on Saturday, January 26, 2013, at 6:00 p.m. in the historic McNichols Civic Center Building (144 W. Colfax) - the newly-renovated historic​ Carnegie Library in Civic Center Park’s northwest corner.

 

Proceeds from the Civic Center Gala will support the Conservancy’s free community programs aimed at revitalizing Civic Center Park - elevating and sustaining this newly-designated National Historic Landmark as a vibrant and iconic cultural hub.

Honorary co-chairs will be Governor John W. Hickenlooper, Helen Thorpe, Denver Mayor Michael B. Hancock and Mary Louise Lee.  The Civic Center Gala will be co-chaired by Elaine and Richard Asarch, M.D. and Yvette and Chris FramptonCydney and Tom Marsico are the presenting sponsors.

The theme for the black tie-optional event will be “A Park for All Seasons” and will feature a cocktail reception, seated dinner, a live auction with unique “seasonal” packages, and live entertainment by the Los Angeles-based The Company Men.   Seasonal sponsors include Asarch Center for Dermatology and Laser; MDC/Richmond American Homes Foundation; and Suncor Energy.
