The nonprofit Civic Center Conservancy will celebrate the post-renovation, grand re-opening of the McNichols Civic Center Building at the fourth-annual Civic Center Gala on Wednesday, September 14, 2016, at 6:00 p.m. Civic Center Gala attendees will be the first to experience the new-and-improved historic Carnegie Library in Civic Center Park's northwest corner; it has been closed since September 2015 for exterior and interior bond-funded renovations.
For the past 11+ years, the Civic Center Conservancy has worked to realize the vision Denver’s leaders had for Civic Center Park a century ago - as a thriving urban oasis that would inspire civic pride, economic prosperity and cultural vitality. After decades of challenges -- infrastructure improvements, expanded safety and maintenance operations, new public programs and events are breathing new life into this nearly 100-year old landmark, but we need your support to ensure Civic Center continues to thrive.
Co-chaired by Mardi and Brown Cannon and Ann Corrigan and Kent Rice, proceeds from the Civic Center Gala support the Conservancy’s free community programs aimed at revitalizing Civic Center Park - elevating and sustaining this National Historic Landmark as a vibrant and iconic cultural hub. Special thanks to the 2016 Civic Center Gala sponsors: MDC/Richmond American Homes Foundation, Suncor and East West Partners.
The 2016 Civic Center Gala Host Committee includes Elaine and Richard Asarch, M.D.; Donna and Rex Carpenter; Patty Shaw Castilian and Chris Castilian; Liane and Bob Clasen; Leanna Clark; Yvette and Chris Frampton; Arlene and Barry Hirschfeld; Dennis Humphries; Kelly and Bruce James; Lindy Eichenbaum Lent and Jason Lent; Stacie Loucks and Marcus Pachner; Evi and Evan Makovsky; Erin and Matt Neren; Susan and Howard Noble; Vicki and Harry Sterling.
