2019 World Cup Ice Climbing Finals

Feb. 22nd - 24th, Civic Center Park

Denver will make history this winter by hosting the 2019 UIAA World Cup Ice Climbing Championships February 22nd - 24th in Civic Center Park!  Part of a seven-city international tour that includes stops in Russia, South Korea and Europe, the competition marks the first time the finals of this iconic event have been hosted by a North American city and we at the Conservancy couldn't be more excited.

Led by the American Alpine Club, the two-day competition will host almost 200 athletes from 21 countries who will compete on a spectacular 50' tall ice climbing structure constructed on the Park promenade with the Greek Theater serving as a unique backdrop (proposed wall design seen on left).  Event supporters incluce a broad range of corporate partners along with the City of Denver, VISIT DENVER and the Denver Sports Commission.  Adding even more interest to the weekend-long FREE event will be an accompanying Winter Festival offering fun winter activities for all ages, hot drinks, craft beer & wine, music and interesting food from around the world.
